While we are offering this week an exhibition “36 15 MO5” on the history of Minitel at the Louis Pergaud Media Library in Arcueil, we are extremely proud and happy to induct on this occasion Mr. Philippe Robiaud as an honorary member of the association. He also participated in a round table on the history of Télétel, the Minitel network, of which he was the project manager and one of the co-creators. As recounted in our press release, the initial experiments in Vélizy, Versailles and Villacoublay did not yet use a dedicated terminal but television, so that the original version of the service was in color, and not in black and white as on Minitel. Philippe having worked in French telematics from these premises at the end of the 1970s until 2007, a few years before the shutdown of Minitel, he likes to think that he has a share in the "CONNECTION/END" button pressed billions of times by millions of French people... His memories and the documents and objects that he kept during these years are of primordial importance in the conservation of this heritage, while other personalities who have worked in this field like Gérard Théry sadly left us recently.
