Tetsuya Mizuguchi

The MO5.COM association has the great pleasure of announcing that Tetsuya Mizuguchi, creator of Rez, has just joined the association as an honorary member.

He considers our initiative necessary and welcome, and offers us his support by agreeing to become an honorary member of the association. There is no doubt that the support of such a personality from the world of video games will help us to make ourselves known and develop.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi began his career in video games in 1990 at SEGA. His studies in the field of arts and media respond to the company's projects in terms of virtual reality experiments and attractions based on computer-generated images videos. This experience quickly led him to develop an arcade hit, the seminal SEGA Rally (1994), then to work on other racing games: Manx TT Super Bike (1995), SEGA Touring Car Championship (1996) and SEGA Rally 2 (1998). In 2000, Mizuguchi took over as head of United Game Artists (UGA), one of SEGA's internal studios which produced the innovative music games Space Channel 5 (1999) and Rez (2001). After his career at SEGA/UGA, he co-founded Q Entertainment, a small development studio. This saw the birth, among others, of puzzle games like Lumines (2004), Mete os (2005) or Every Extend Extra (2006). During this period, he launched and produced a concept group called Genki Rockets, which not only ranked in the charts but also gave rise to several hologram concerts. In 2011, Mizuguchi directed the spiritual successor to Rez, called Child of Eden. After a brief hiatus, he founded Enhance with the goal of creating unique and memorable experiences that stimulate the senses through the capabilities of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) and other new technologies. His first game, the multi-award-winning and VR-compatible Rez Infinite, as well as the haptic suit Synesthesia Suit™, are just the beginning of what his new company promises.
