Opening of the MO5 Video Game Museum: digital heritage in Paris

Le MO5 Video Game Museum is the concrete result of over 20 years' commitment by the French association MO5, which is recognised as being in the public interest. Our institution is the national reference point for preserving, promoting and sharing digital and videogame heritage.

Ouverture du Musée du Jeu Vidéo de MO5

A historic mission, a unique location

With an exceptional collection of over 70,000 items, our museum aims to archive the entire history of computing and video games, from the pioneers of the 1950s to contemporary platforms.

Our mission is based on three pillars:

  • Conservation: safeguarding hardware (computers, consoles, arcade terminals) and software media, ensuring the longevity of an ephemeral and fragile culture.
  • Transmission: offering interactive and educational experiences to shed light on the technological, artistic and social impact of video games.
  • Research: developing a centre of expertise for the documentation, maintenance and restoration of digital heritage.

See you in Paris from 13 December 2025

Our Video Game Museum is set to open its doors to the public on 13 December 2025 at 10 avenue Paul Doumer, 94110 Arcueil (Val-de-Marne), very close to Laplace station on the RER B (around 15 minutes from the centre of Paris by public transport).

This new space will offer :

  • 1,200 m² of permanent exhibition space, covering the company's history from 1950 to the present day.
  • Over 140 playable machines (consoles, arcade terminals and PCs) with simultaneous access.
  • A 200 m² area dedicated to preservation and research (storerooms, maintenance workshop).
  • Multi-purpose areas for temporary exhibitions, cultural events and catering.

Ultimately, MO5«s ambition is to obtain the »Musée de France" label, a recognition that will guarantee the protection of our collection and definitively anchor video games within the major national cultural institutions. MO5 is a founder member of the European Federation of Video Game Archives, Museums and Preservation Projects (EFGAMP). This new museum joins an international network of major institutions working together to preserve the world's digital heritage.

The MO5.COM Video Game Museum isn't just a place for nostalgia, it's a history laboratory where we explore how yesterday's technologies have shaped today's digital world.
