A contextualized history of the digital age
MO5.COM was created to preserve and valorize the digital heritage and make it accessible to all audiences in its original context.
One of the founding wishes was to take part in numerous events, during which the association could valorize its large collections dedicated to the digital heritage and explain to the general public the purpose of its endeavor.
It must also be known that ever since its creation, MO5.COM has received no subsidy that would help it achieve its goals; the only financial support it gets comes from the work of our volunteers during our exhibitions throughout the year.
Since its creation, MO5.COM has lent a hand to communities and associations that want to introduce their audiences to the digital heritage. We offer exhibitions with playful and educational content. Our various ranges of hardware items and furniture allow us to adapt to the needs and means of everyone, whether for a single day or longer events.
MO5.COM regularly attends major shows related to the digital culture, such as Japan Expo and Paris Games Week, of which we are long-standing partners. Within vast booths designed to accommodate many visitors, our lighted furniture and cathode-ray-tube TV sets showcase the machines as well as the games on display.
MO5.COM regularly partners with cultural institutions to set up large-scale exhibitions about the history of video games. We combine our expertise with that of historians and scenographers to provide educational and attractive exhibitions for the general public, lasting up to several months.
Our collection of several thousand items allows us to offer a wide range of machines and games dating from the 1970s up to the current days, and lets us adapt to any request. Most of the machines we provide are freely accessible and can be played in the same conditions as when they were first released. The rarest or most fragile items are presented in display cabinets.
In addition to the machines and games made available to the public, we offer tournaments, contests or musical entertainments aligned with the theme of the exhibition. We also animate conferences around various topics, thanks to the expertise of our contributors – whether members or partners of the association.
All items are presented with an explanatory note specifying their main characteristics, release date and history. We can also design chronological or thematic media, in accordance with the theme of the exhibition. Our attending members are also available to visitors for information.
