Anis Gras

Since 2005, the ECARTS association has been responsible for the artistic direction and management of the project: Le Lieu de l'Autre, in Arcueil, in the grounds of Anis Gras, a former 19th-century distillery that has been converted into an artistic and cultural space. The venue is subsidised by the town of Arcueil and the Établissement Public Territorial Grand Orly Seine Bièvre.

Artistic creation and transmission are at the heart of the Ecarts team's approach, which takes the form of a twofold hospitality:

Creation and research residencies.
Sharing these attempts and proposals through transmission mechanisms.
The venue has 4 workshops - 2 rehearsal/public performance rooms - 1 exhibition space - 1 multi-purpose greenhouse - 1 Bar-Cantine - 1 office for residents - 1 gîte (sleeps 7).

The project operates with a production and administration team, stage managers and two associate artists, Stéphanie Loïk (director) and Michel Simonot (writer and director). The venue also has a reception, maintenance and upkeep team.

Anis Gras is first and foremost a place that provides the space and time to develop artistic research.
