An association of enthusiasts

MO5.COM is a non-profit-making association under the French law of 1901, founded on 31 January 2003 with the aim of preserving digital heritage. Located in the inner suburbs of Paris, the association has extensive premises that enable its many volunteers to work serenely to fulfil its mission. Thanks to a large number of donations since it was founded, the association now boasts one of Europe's largest collections dedicated to digital heritage. This same collection is destined to become part of a dedicated national museum.

History

The history of the association began at the dawn of the Internet in France in 1996, with the creation of the Musée d'Histoire Informatique website. Its founder, Philippe Dubois, already had a large collection of machines and created the logo by retouching the photo of a French microcomputer, the Thomson MO5, popularised by the Computer For All programme in 1985.

This site enabled him to make contact with many other enthusiasts who felt the need to pool their collections and skills. In 2003, this desire led to the creation of the association loi 1901 MO5.COMand his move to the Paris region.
