The history of digital in context
The MO5.COM association was set up to preserve and promote digital heritage and make it accessible to the general public in its original context.
One of its founding aims is to be able to take part in a wide range of events at which it can showcase its vast collections of digital heritage and explain the purpose of its approach to the general public.
It's also worth bearing in mind that, since its creation, the MO5.COM association has received no subsidies that would enable it to work towards the goals it has set itself. The only financial support it receives is obtained thanks to the work of our volunteers at our exhibitions throughout the year.
Since its creation, MO5.COM has been helping local authorities and associations who want to introduce their public to digital heritage. We offer exhibitions with fun and educational content. Our different ranges of equipment and furniture enable us to adapt to everyone's needs and resources, whether for one or several days.
MO5.COM is present at major digital culture events such as Japan Expo and Paris Games Week, where we have been a long-standing partner. In large spaces designed to welcome large numbers of visitors, our illuminated furniture and CRT televisions showcase both the machines and the games on display.
MO5.COM regularly works with cultural institutions to put on large-scale exhibitions on the history of video games. We combine our expertise with that of historians and scenographers to offer exhibitions that are both educational and attractive to the general public, over periods of up to several months.
A few references
Our collection of several thousand items enables us to offer a range of machines and games dating from the 1970s to the present day, and to adapt to all requests. Most of the machines we offer are open access, playable in the conditions in which they were released. The rarest and most fragile machines are displayed in a showcase.
In addition to the machines and games on display, we offer tournaments, competitions and musical entertainment in keeping with the theme of the exhibition. We also run conferences on a range of themes, thanks to the expertise of our speakers, whether members or partners of the association.
All the items on display are accompanied by an explanatory label detailing their main characteristics, their date of release and their history. We can also produce chronological or thematic displays, depending on the theme of the exhibition. What's more, our members are on hand at exhibitions to provide information for visitors.
