Support the MO5.COM association
You can support our work by making a one-off or regular financial donation, or by donating equipment.
Make a material donation
Almost all the items in our collections come from your donations. By bequeathing your machines, games and documentation to MO5.COM, you are helping to preserve our heritage, and enabling others to discover them.
I make a donationQuestions
The MO5.COM association has now been in existence for over 20 years and operates without subsidies. It is financed by membership fees and a financial contribution from the partners who host our exhibitions. The sums are often modest, because we want to avoid at all costs that it becomes expensive to host an exhibition of the association.
We rely on donations to cover our expenses without penalising our other activities.
Yes, the association has recently been declared to be in the public interest.
The tax reduction is 66 % of the amount paid. The reduction applies to a maximum of 20 % of taxable income.
Unfortunately, we are unable to estimate the value of donations in kind, which are therefore not eligible for tax relief.
The association needs to invest to further improve the conservation of its collections and finance its premises. Professional conservation equipment is expensive. This includes neutral cardboard packaging, air filtering systems, textile storage furniture, hoovers with absolute filtration, and special racks for storing point-of-sale displays and other large-format objects. The purchase of all this equipment allows us to better preserve our heritage, and to come as close as possible to the conservation standards of the "museum law".
Absolutely. The security and confidentiality of your information is our priority. We use an SSL certificate to protect your information, and donations via the PayPal platform are secure. We will not sell, trade, or share your personal information with anyone, and we will not email donors on behalf of other organisations.
What happens to donated equipment?
Depending on the type of object, its rarity and its condition, it may have several destinations for its second life:
- The heart of the collection is made up of the most remarkable and/or emblematic items, due to their rarity, condition or historical importance. They are inventoried, photographed and stored in a room protected from light and major changes in temperature and humidity.
- The study collection brings together the most common items in working order, possibly after repair in our workshop. These pieces can then be made available to the public at our exhibitions.
- If we already have several copies of the item being donated, or if it is in better condition, it could eventually be exchanged or loaned to international institutions (associations, museums, science centres, etc.). If an object proves to be beyond repair, its spare parts could be used to restore other machines.
But under no circumstances will your donation be resold. This is not our policy and never will be.
