The Quai Branly - Jacques-Chirac Museum, or Museum of the Arts and Civilisations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas (non-European civilisations), is located on the Quai Branly in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, alongside the Quai de la Seine from which it takes its name and at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The project, supported by Jacques Chirac and designed by Jean Nouvel, was inaugurated on 20 June 2006. Visitor numbers reached nearly 1,500,000 in 2014, and in 2013 passed the 10 million mark since its opening, making it one of the most visited museums of its kind in the world.
On 21 June 2016, ten years after its inauguration, the museum took the name of former President Jacques Chirac, who initiated the project3. Its emblem is a Chupicuaro statuette.
