Rayman Origins (2011)

Christophe Héral

Born in 1960 in Montpellier, Christophe Héral learnt to play the guitar as a teenager, then studied composition from the age of seventeen. In 1986 he wrote his first soundtrack for an animated short. Héral went on to compose music for numerous short films, many of which won awards, including History bitch (2011), which won the Palme d'Or for short film at Cannes.

But he is also responsible for the soundtracks to the animated features The Island of Black Mór (2005) and Kérity, the house of tales (2009). It was in 1999, when Michel Ancel is looking for a film composer for its next game, the ambitious Beyond Good and Evil (2003), that Hubert Chevillard, an animation director, recommended Christophe Héral to him.

He will be working again with the video game creator for Rayman Origins (2011) and Rayman Legends (2013), as well as with the publisher of these two titles, Ubisoftfor The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011), the adaptation of the animated film by Steven Spielberg.

Today, he is working again with Michel Ancel on his next game WiLD produced by Sony.
