Yoji Shinkawa
Yoji Shinkawa joins Konami in 1994 and joined theHideo Kojima. He first worked on the game Policenautsas debugger on the NEC PC-9821 then as a graphic designer on the 3DO and PlayStation.
In 1998, he was the chief illustrator of Metal Gear Solid and kept this role on all the following opuses: Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, Guns of the Patriots.
It gives form to charismatic figures such as Solid Snake or Revolver Ocelot and became very popular in the gaming community. He is also working on Zone of the Enders and its sequel, The 2d Runner and designs some of the most graceful mechas ever seen in a video game1. His distinctive pencil stroke, difficult to reproduce on screen, is regularly featured on the cover of the trade press and is showcased in various artbooks.
In 2005, Yoji Shinkawa joined a newly formed division called Kojima Productions.
He also contributed to the design of Metal Gear Risingparticularly on bosses.
In 2015, he left Konami to join the independent studio of Hideo Kojima. He is now artistic director of the video game currently in development. Death Stranding.
