The 17th Gamers Assembly took place from 26 to 28 March 2016 at the Parc des Expositions in Poitiers. This flagship esport event broke its attendance record, welcoming more than 1,800 players and 19,000 visitors.
As a prelude to the event, an exhibition was organised by the local council in a marquee on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. Poitevins were able to try out a preview of the games destined for the Gamers Assembly.
During the convention, MO5.COM occupied the impressive stand dedicated to retrogaming, located in the family area. Visitors could sit back and try their hand at some classic console video games: from Super Mario Bros.3 on the NES to WipeOut on the PlayStation, not forgetting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV on the Super Nintendo. In all, 6 classic stations equipped with CRT televisions and sofas were set up.
Naturally, the traditional Saturn Bomberman video projector was on hand, allowing up to 10 players to battle it out simultaneously in front of an enthusiastic audience, including Kayane, who gave us the pleasure of trying her hand at this multiplayer classic.
Our in-house DJ, Cédric, brought the family area to life with his mixes, or simply by broadcasting the sound of the Bomberman games!
Over the three days of the convention, we had the pleasure of welcoming almost a thousand* visitors, to whom we were able to share our passion for the history of video games. Thank you to them, and a big thank you to the organisers who made it possible for us to set up this stand.
