Born on 10 September 1967, Laurent Cluzel He was already illustrating fanzines at his lycée before taking a science baccalaureate and then graduating from the Beaux-Arts. In 1989, he was hired by Titus where he designed the graphics for Knight Force, Wild Streets and Fire & Forget II. After less than a year, he decided to go freelance and created games for various publishers, including Starush (1992) for Ubisoftbut the action/adventure game LightQuest will remain unfinished and the shoot 'em up Zodiac on Mega Drive will be cancelled by the publisher.
Subsequently, Laurent was involved in the graphics or the game design securities such as Psyborg (1992) for Loriciel or Kether (1993) for Infogramesand is the author and project leader of the Crime of the Gods which will become Fable (1996) at Telstar. In 1994, he was recruited by a studio founded by Sony and Psygnosis to work on the adaptation of the film City of Lost Children (1997), where he won an internal competition to complete the Holmbased on LightQuestbut the departure of the head of the studio caused the project to be abandoned once again... He then joined CHAMAN Productions where he designed an MMORPG which, alas, never saw the light of day either. However, the adaptation of the animated film Kaena: The Prophecy (2004), which he supervises at Xilam is doing well, bringing him into contact with the world of Japanese animation, through collaborations with Yoshitaka Amano and Rintaro.
In 2007, he returned to video games via Ubisoft's Moroccan subsidiary, where he was artistic director for two episodes of Prince of Persia on Nintendo DSas well as training young recruits. Returning to France in 2009, he began creating prototypes for mobile games before joining Chocolapps from 2011 to 2016. Since then, Laurent Cluzel has worked as a video game consultant, designed board games and was Creative Director for the company wiZama where he designed three prototypes for a board games console based on connected objects. He is now Director of Bachelors at the E-Artsup in Nantes, he still hopes one day to successfully LightQuest !
